GALVESTON – A Galveston woman is accused of letting her dogs roam uncontrolled and that the animals injured a horse.

Ase Akmal filed a complaint on July 12 in the Galveston County District Court against Kathy Maines alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 25, 2015, plaintiff's horse was severely injured when defendant's two dogs attacked the horse and attempted to attack an employee on the plaintiff's property. The suite states that the plaintiff suffered veterinary care and expenses for the care of the horse and diminished value of the horse itself.

The plaintiff holds Maines responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly manage and control her two dogs so that they would not attack and injure others.

The plaintiff seeks actual and exemplary damages, plus interest, costs of court and all further relief to which plaintiff is entitled. Plaintiff is represented by Neil G. Baron of Law Office of Neil G. Baron in Dickinson.
