Customer accuses auto repair shop of fraud

GALVESTON — A vehicle owner is suing a Galveston County auto repair show, alleging breach of contract and fraud.

Saul Van Buren filed a complaint July 13, in Galveston County District Court against Steve McClure, doing business as Steve's Auto Body, Paint and Restoration in Dickinson, alleging failure to meet obligations under the contract.

According to the complaint, Van Buren has been damaged financially for the $4,551.80 he paid to repair his vehicle and for costs incurred in bringing this legal action. The plaintiff alleges Steve's Auto Body took his money and did not perform the repair works on Van Buren's vehicle after it was damaged in a crash Jan. 31.

Van Buren seeks trial by jury, up to $100,000, court costs, pre-judgment interest and attorney fees, plus all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorney Cris A. Rasco of Rasco Law Firm in Texas City.
