Texas JP suspended after sexting in courtroom, using bailiff to buy drugs

HOUSTON – The Texas Supreme Court recently suspended a Harris County justice of the peace following accusations that she sexted while in the courtroom and used her bailiff of buy drugs.

On May 7, the State commission on Judicial Conduct filed a motion to suspend Hilary Green, justice of the peace for precinct 7, without pay.

The motions contains numerous accusations, including:

- Court officers took marijuana from a detainee in her courtroom and gave it to her;

- Her bailiff helped her acquire Tussionex (hydrocodone); and

- Green hired prostitutes on two occasions.

The complaint also has an allegation that Green was “sexting in a courtroom full of children.”

Her suspension without pay became effective on July 7.
