HOUSTON – A Brazoria County moviegoer alleges she was injured at a Houston movie theater and is seeking more than $200,000 in damages.

Velinda Graves filed a complaint on July 20 in the Harris County District Court against Regal Entertainment Group Inc. and Hossein Farshchi alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 10, 2016, she was an invitee at defendants' Regal Grand Palace Stadium 24 to see a movie. While walking in the concession area, the suit states she slipped and fell on a pool of water on the tile floor.

The plaintiff holds Regal Entertainment Group Inc. and Farshchi responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to timely clean the floor and failed to warn invitees of the existence of a dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all further relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Keith Hampton of Hampton & Rawlings in Houston.
