HOUSTON – A resident of a Houston apartment complex alleges that an unmarked drainage hole caused him to fall and sustain severe injuries.

Jason McCaskill filed a complaint on July 24 in the Harris County District Court against Colony Oaks Apts LLC and Colony Oak Apartment Management LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 20, 2016, he sustained severe and debilitating injuries to his back when an unmarked drainage hole caused him to fall to the ground.

The plaintiff holds Colony Oaks Apts LLC and Colony Oak Apartment Management LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to ensure that their employees safely and adequately performed inspection, maintenance and repairs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all further relief to which he may show himself justly entitled. He is represented by Clifford D. Peel II of Clifford D. Peel II PLLC in Houston.
