Former Northern Offshore LTD president and CEO alleges he was wrongfully terminated

Wrongful term 11

HOUSTON – A Montgomery County man formerly employed as the president and CEO of an oil and gas company alleges it terminated him without just cause and is obligated to honor compensation outlined in an agreement.

Gary W. Casswell filed a complaint on July 26 in the Harris County District Court against Northern Offshore LTD alleging wrongful termination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 1, 2017, he was terminated from his employment after a merger of the defendant with Blue Ocean Drilling LTD. He alleges that part of his employment agreement obligates the defendant to pay him $2.25 million within 30 days and insurance for two full years of insurance if he is terminated for any other reason other than cause.

The plaintiff holds Northern Offshore LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly improperly terminated his employment without justification and based on false accusations. He alleges he is owed the compensation and benefits as stated in the employment agreement.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, attorney's fees, interest and all other relief to which he may show himself justly entitled. He is represented by Michael K. Oldham of Reynolds Frizzell LLP in Houston.
