Owner seeks restraining order to keep city of Beaumont from demolishing property

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County man is seeking to stop the city of Beaumont from demolishing a home.

Paul Aubry filed a complaint on July 21 in the Jefferson County District Court against the city of Beaumont seeking a restraining order.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff purchased a dilapidated structure at 2855 Prairie St. on July 17 originally scheduled to be demolished by the defendant. He alleges he intended to remodel and renovate the home and seeks an order to stop demolition.

The plaintiff seeks a temporary restraining order for the defendant not to demolish the home located at 2855 Prairie Street and award for expenses incurred for this action. He is represented by Brittanie A. Holmes in Beaumont.
