King Food Super Market shopper alleges liquid in aisle caused fall

Slip01

BEAUMONT – A Beaumont man alleges that he was injured while shopping at a store in the city.

Larry Gorrell filed a complaint on July 19 in the Jefferson County District Court against Mohammed Mustafa, individually and doing business as King Food Super Market; Vuong Huynh Corp.; and Farid Abusaleh alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 15, 2015, he was shopping at the defendants' premises when he fell in a puddle of liquid on the floor. He alleges the fall caused injuries.

The plaintiff holds Mustafa, individually and doing business as King Food Super Market; Vuong Huynh Corp.; and Abusaleh responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their duties to protect and safeguard their customers from a dangerous condition and failed to warn invitees of their existence.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and such other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg in Beaumont.
