HOUSTON – A Texas woman employed as a longshoreman alleges that she has been subjected to sexual harassment and discrimination.

Rhonda Stelly filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against West Gulf Maritime Association and International Longshoremen's Association No. 1316 alleging discrimination on the basis of sex and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has been subjected to sexual harassment from members for defendant ILA and a hostile work environment. She alleges she was retaliated against for filing complaints.

The plaintiff holds West Gulf Maritime Association and International Longshoremen's Association No. 1316 responsible because the defendants allegedly intentionally discriminated against her by subjecting her to different standards than her male counterparts and subjected to adverse employment actions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks front pay and back pay, compensatory and punitive damages, costs and attorney’s fees and such other relief as is proper and just. She is represented by Keith Lovelace of Law Offices of Keith Lovelace in Houston.
