Shopper alleges she was injured in Port Arthur Walmart in fall

Slip01

BEAUMONT – A Port Arthur Walmart shopper alleges she was injured in the store because of water on the floor.

Mirta Negrete filed a complaint on July 25 in the Jefferson County District Court against Wal-Mart Stores Texas LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 24, 2015, she was a customer at defendant's Walmart store on Memorial Boulevard when she slipped and fell on a puddle of water on the floor. She alleges she sustained serious injury to her left knee.

The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores Texas LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn plaintiff of the existence of such defects.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg in Beaumont.
