BEAUMONT – A Beaumont woman alleges she was injured in a collision in the city when another driver failed to yield to the right of way.
Bernadette Sam filed a complaint on Aug. 1 in the Jefferson County District Court against Kelly Mountain, Tom Bell and Johnnie Bell alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 2, 2015, she was traveling on College Street and sustained injuries and damages when the vehicle she was operating was struck with another vehicle being driven by Fountain. The suit states the vehicle Fountain was driving was owned by Johnnie Bell and insured under a policy carried by Tom Bell.
She alleges she suffered injuries to her head, neck, back, chest and left arm that resulted in medical expenses, loss earnings, pain and mental anguish.
The plaintiff holds Kelly Mountain, Tom Bell and Johnnie Bell responsible because defendant Fountain allegedly failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle he was driving and failed to keep careful lookout.
The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg in Beaumont.
