BEAUMONT – A Louisiana driver is facing a suit seeking more than $200,000 in damages from five individuals who allege they were injured in a collision on Interstate 10.

Micha Lewis, individually and on behalf of minors K. Lewis and M. Lewis; Stephen Claypool; and Lisa Carroll Baer filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the Jefferson County District Court against Walter Narcisse and Stephens Pipe and Steel LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 9, 2015, they were traveling on Interstate 10 in Beaumont when Narcisse, who was in the course of his employment with Stephens Pipe and Steel, unsafely changed lanes struck the plaintiffs' vehicle. The suit states the impact caused the plaintiffs' vehicle to flip, injuring the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs holds Narcisse and Stephens Pipe and Steel LLC responsible because defendant Narcisse allegedly failed to keep careful lookout and failed to pass to the left of another vehicle at a safe distance.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other relief to which they may be entitled. They are represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg of Jonathan C. Juhan Attorney at Law in Beaumont.
