HOUSTON – A Harris County man is facing a suit accusing him of defamation and slander.

Houston Extracorporeal Therapies LLC and Joseph Basha filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the Harris County District Court against Shawn Paul Glass alleging defamation, malice and tortious interference with contract.

According to the complaint, Glass was hired by Houston Extracorporeal Therapies in 2014 and was terminated for making false statements on his employment application. The suit states Glass has made slanderous statements about the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs seek a restraining order and injunctive relief to prohibit the defendant from making unsubstantiated and/or false statements and prohibiting him from contacting current employees.

The plaintiffs seek actual and consequential damages, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and any further relief to which they may be entitled. They are represented by Larry M. Champion of Larry M. Champion Attorney at Law in Houston.
