HOUSTON – A Tomball woman is seeking damages of more than $1 million from the owners and operators of a pool after her decedent died of an infection.

Ana Hernandez, individually and as representative of the estate of Alicia Hernandez, deceased filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the Harris County District Court against Coleman Holdings LLC, MC Equities LLC and Harmony Communities alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her decedent Alicia Hernandez was infected with an amoeba as a result of swimming at defendants' pool and later died due to meningitis. The plaintiff holds Coleman Holdings LLC, MC Equities LLC and Harmony Communities responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to chemically treat the pool, to keep it clean and failed to warn its users of the risk of infection.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other relief to which plaintiff is justly entitled. She is representing herself.
