Marina Bay Square alleges tenants' contract breach cost it thousands in unpaid rent

GALVESTON – A property owner claims that its tenants have abandoned the property and owe unpaid rent.

Marina Bay Square LLC filed a complaint on Aug. 15 in the Galveston County District Court against Marina Bay Urgent Care Clinic LLC, Manfred & Co. LC and Urgent Clinics Medical Care Inc. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the defendants entered into a lease agreement for a League City property with the plaintiff's predecessor. The suit states the lease was for September 2013 to May 2019, but the defendants have abandoned the premises and have failed to pay rent since April.

The plaintiff holds Marina Bay Urgent Care Clinic LLC, Manfred & Co., LC and Urgent Clinics Medical Care Inc. responsible because the defendants' alleged breach of contract has cost the plaintiff $249,366.60 in lost rental income.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other and further relief. It is represented by Faheem N. Prasla of Prasla Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
