HOUSTON – A visitor has filed suit against a Houston museum after slipping and falling.

Mona Farokhian filed a complaint on Sept. 1 in the Harris County District Court against Houston Museum of Natural Science alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 19, 2016, she was walking into the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Butterfly Exhibit when she slipped and fell face down. She alleges she sustained injuries resulting in pain, loss of earnings and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Houston Museum of Natural Science responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to promptly dry the floor and failed to provide adequate warnings that the floor was wet and slippery.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and such other relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Husein Hadi, Jamil Thomas and Canegie H. Mims III of The Hadi Law Firm in Houston.
