Former Aladdin Food Management Services LLC employee alleges retaliation for reporting harassment

MARSHALL – A Tyler woman alleges that she was retaliated against for reporting sexual harassment by a supervisor.

Hattie M. Alexander filed a complaint on Sept. 1 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Aladdin Food Management Services LLC of Wheeling WV, doing business as AFMS LLC; CurtMont Food Services Group LLC; and David Black citing the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1991.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired as a lead cook and supervisor by Aladdin and CurtMont at Texas College in Tyler in August 2015, and she was notified the following month that Black was her supervisor. She alleges Black used inappropriate sexual conduct and comments toward her and that she reported the conduct.

The suit states that after a sexual harassment investigation began, she was assigned less-desirable shifts and her hours were reduced. She alleges she left in January 2016 due to the changes in her employment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages of $200,000, with interest, attorney’s fees, costs and such other proper and just relief. She is represented by Rory C. Dukes of Erskine & MacMahon LLP in Longview.
