Man alleges his possessions were destroyed while stored at Move-It-Self Storage

Contract 10

GALVESTON – A man alleges a Kemah storage unit operator allowed vandals to damage his unit and destroy his property.

Neil Ross Oyler filed a complaint on Sept. 1 in the Galveston County District Court against Move-It-Self Storage alleging negligence and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 26, he contracted defendant to store and protect his possessions. He alleges on Aug. 9, he discovered that the unit had been vandalized and all of his possessions were destroyed. He alleges the loss has been estimated at $45,300.

The plaintiff holds Move-It-Self Storage responsible because the defendant allegedly admitted to witnessing the vandals flush a boat directly into the plaintiff's unit, which he alleges is a breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages of no less than $45,300, special, general and incidental damages. He is representing himself.
