SHERMAN – A Denton County woman alleges she was discriminated against by her employers because of her gender and age.

Mary Martin filed a complaint on Sept. 1 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against The Art of Shaving - FL LLC and Taos Retail LLC citing the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff became employed by the defendants in November 2014. She alleges that a new interim store manager in December 2015 harassed her about her age and sex and when she complained about the treatment in March 2016, her hours were cut.

The plaintiff holds The Art of Shaving - FL LLC and Taos Retail LLC responsible because the defendants retaliated against her by constructively terminating her employment for engaging in protected activity.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other legal and equitable relief. She is represented by Matthew R. Scott and Javier Perez of Scott Perez LLP in Dallas.
