HOUSTON – Two individuals allege they were terminated from their jobs as servers because of their age.

Ana M. Villarreal and Ondina D. Rios filed a complaint on Sept. 8 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Specialty Restaurants Corp., doing business as Brady's Landing, alleging that the former employer violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they were terminated from their positions with the defendant on the false allegations that they stole leftover party favors. They allege that these false accusations were a pretextual reason to fire them because of their age and in retaliation of Villarreal's sexual harassment complaints.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory, punitive and liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Samantha Barlow Martinez of Martinez Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
