Woman seeks more than $100,000 after fall allegedly caused by wet floor at Whataburger

Slip02

GALVESTON – A Galveston County woman alleges that she fell at a La Marque restaurant because of a wet floor.

Tammy Renee Jones filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the Galveston County District Court against Whataburger Restaurants LLC, doing business as Whataburger No. 599, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 28, 2016, she sustained severe and serious bodily injuries when she slipped and fell at defendant's premises because the floor was wet. She alleges she suffered pain, suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff holds Whataburger Restaurants LLC, doing business as Whataburger No. 599, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the premises and failed to warn its invitees about the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and all other relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by Uhuru Ndirangu of The Law Office of Ndirangu PLLC in Houston.
