Customer alleges Zummo Meat Co. failed to safeguard customers from store hazards

BEAUMONT – A Silsbee man alleges he was injured at a grocers in a fall.

Arthur Yarbough filed a complaint on Sept. 11 in the Jefferson County District Court against Zummo Meat Co. Inc. and Frank Zummo alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 3, 2016, he received serious and significant injuries to his thumb when he fell in the front of defendants' loading docks. The plaintiff holds Zummo Meat Co. Inc. and Zummo responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly inspect their premises and discover the dangerous condition and failed to safeguard its customers from hazards within their store.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Stewart M. Butler of The Butler Law Firm LLP in Kountze.
