Burwell, Burwell & Nebout alleges it was not paid per the terms of a contract

GALVESTON – A Galveston County law firm alleges that it was not paid per a contract with another law firm.

Burwell, Burwell & Nebout, doing business as Burwell Nebout Trial Lawyers, filed a complaint on Sept. 21 in the Galveston County District Court against Christopher Bertini and Bertini Law Firm PC alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the parties entered into a written agreement in October 2015 and that the plaintiff would advance expenses and other obligations on certain cases to the defendants. Upon settlement, the defendants were to reimburse the plaintiff for the expenses and a percentage of the attorney's fees.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants settled cases and then failed to make the required payments to the plaintiff.

The plaintiffs seek actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other just and proper relief. It is represented by Neil G. Baron of The Law Office of Neil G. Baron in League City.
