GALVESTON – A Whataburger employee alleges she was injured because a computer monitor was not securely mounted and fell on her.

Lauren Guedea filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the Galveston County District Court against Whataburger Restaurants LLC alleging premises defect.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 4, she was injured while working at defendant's premises when a computer monitor in the drive-thru window fell from its mount onto her. She alleges she suffered pain and suffering, mental anguish, anxiety and necessary medical and care expenses.

The plaintiff holds Whataburger Restaurants LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain and inspect the monitor and failed to warn her of such unsafe condition.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and such other and further relief. She is represented by Albert Lee Giddens of Law Office of Albert Lee Giddens in Pasadena.
