HOUSTON — Two radiologists are suing Royal Urgent Care PLLC and Dr. Noma Abbasi, alleging a failure to pay overtime wages.

Kimberly Flaherty and Julia Rincones filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against the defendants, alleging that they willfully violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

According to the complaint, Flaherty and Rincones allege they routinely worked more than 40 hours per week while employed by the defendants without receiving proper overtime compensation. The plaintiffs hold Royal Urgent Care PLLC and Abbasi responsible because the defendants allegedly did not make a good-faith effort to comply with the FLSA by not paying time and a half for those hours worked in excess of 40 per week and by failing to maintain accurate time and pay records.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, interest, attorneys' fees and costs and all further relief to which they may be entitled under the law. They are represented by Lionel Martin and Melissa Garcia-Martin of Garcia-Martin & Martin PC in Sugar Land.
