HOUSTON - A cocktail waitress alleges she was the victim of a sexual assault more than a year ago and blames the event on her employer.

Micah Montgomery filed a lawsuit against Valencia Group, Inc., doing business as Hotel Sorella City Centre Houston, in the Harris County 269th District Court on Sept. 29, stating an unnamed employee of the defendant served her alcoholic beverages during her shift on the evening of Jan. 2, 2016.

At the end of her shift, the suit says, a co-worker named "Little Raul" took her to her vehicle in the hotel parking garage and raped her.

Montgomery was reportedly 20 at the time of the subject incident.

The hotel is accused of failing to provide the plaintiff with a safe workplace, as well as serving her alcoholic beverages despite her not being of legal drinking age.

The unidentified man who purportedly served the complaint joins his employer as a co-defendant.

Consequently, Montgomery seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by attorneys Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of the law firm Klitsas & Vercher, P.C. in Houston.
