Tomball Texas Hospital faces wrongful death lawsuit

Medical malpractice 01

HOUSTON — Relatives of a Montgomery County man are suing Tomball Texas Hospital Co. LLC, Tomball Regional Medical Center, CHG Hospital Conroe LLC and Cornerstone Hospital Conroe, alleging medical negligence and wrongful death.

Dorothy Ross, individually and as personal representative of the estate of the late Johnnie Tending, filed a complaint on Sept. 29 in the Harris County District Court against the defendants, alleging that they breached the standards of medical care in assessing and treating Tending's medical condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 1, 2016, Tending died due to acute chronic respiratory failure, sepsis pneumonia and a stage IV sacral decubitus ulcer. The plaintiffs hold the medical care providers responsible because they allegedly failed to properly assess Tending's risks of pressure ulcer development, failed to reposition him from time to time and failed to prevent his condition from progressing to a stage IV wound.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants for all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of this suit and other relief. They are represented by Kristina C. Frankel and Mary Green of Brown & Brothers Law Firm in Houston.
