GALVESTON — An executive search and consulting firm is suing a water management company, citing an alleged breach of contract.

Newport Strategic Search filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the Galveston County District Court against Breakwater Energy Services LLC, alleging that the water management company failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it provided contingency search services to Breakwater and agreed to receive 25 percent of an executive candidate's first 12-month gross compensation. To date, the balance of $8,250 has not been paid, according to the complaint. The plaintiff holds Breakwater responsible because the defendant allegedly refused the pay the balance of the account.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief $100,000 or less and such other relief as deemed acceptable. It is represented by Don M. Barnett, Matias Eduardo, Sean S. V. Homrig, Ian A. McCarthy and Lawrence J. Falli of Barnett & Garcia in Austin.
