Homeowner sues Dallas firm over windstorm inspection

GALVESTON — A property owner is suing Eric L. Davis Engineering Inc. and one of its employee. alleging that a windstorm inspection on his home was deficient. 

Robert Devoll filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the Galveston County District Court against the defendants, alleging that they breached their duty to perform a reasonable inspection..

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of the defendants' negligence, he has suffered damage to his residence and garage. The plaintiff holds Eric L. Davis Engineering Inc. and Sirinivasan Pillaipakkam responsible because the defendants allegedly performed an inadequate windstorm inspection of plaintiff's home by failing to discover and report missing step flashing where the roof intersects vertical sidewalls and the inadequate roof support in the garage attic.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but less than $200,000 and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Kenneth D. McConnico of Law Office of Kenneth D. McConnico in Houston.
