Slip02

HOUSTON – An invitee at a Pasadena nursing home alleges she fractured her ankle because of water left on the floor.

Ruth Rodriguez filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Vista Continuing Care Center alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 9. 2015, she was seriously injured when she slipped and fell while visiting a relative housed at defendant's nursing home center. The suit states water from a community shower caused the fall. She claims suffered fractured ankle and herniated discs in her spine.

The plaintiff holds Vista Continuing Care Center responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn of the hazardous condition and failed to clean the water up in a timely manner.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million, interests and court costs. She is represented by Christopher R. Soileau of The Soileau Law Firm PC in Deer Park.
