Law money 01

HOUSTON – A construction worker alleges that his former employer failed to pay him for overtime work.

Cesar E. Juarez, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against R.E.M. Construction Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from April 2013 to August 2016 and again from January to April 2017 as a general construction worker.

The plaintiff holds R.E.M. Construction Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay him the required overtime premium for all hours he worked over 40 in a workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, out-of-pocket expenses and costs and such other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Josef F. Buenker of The Buenker Law Firm in Houston.
