HOUSTON – A Harris County man is suing his employer following a hand injury he reportedly sustained at the defendant’s Houston facility last year.
According to a lawsuit filed against Womble Co., Inc. in the Harris County 125th District Court on Oct. 13, Jesus Peraza was hurt while working on a conveyor belt machine on or around Aug. 11, 2016.
The defendant failed to train Peraza when it came to using the machine, the suit asserts.
Peraza adds that the piece of equipment in question lacked safety guards or shields, stating it eventually resulted in his glove getting caught.
“As a result of the accident, the plaintiff sustained serious injuries and damages including significant lacerations and muscle and nerve damage to his right hand and forearm,” the original petition says.
Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
He is represented by attorneys Benny Agosto and Michelle A. Ciolek of the law firm Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
