Man alleges Dow Chemical, DCT Laporte failed to secure, maintain equipment

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he was injured on the job when a plywood surface gave away under him and caused him to fall.

Christopher Citizen filed a complaint on Oct. 16 in the Harris County District Court against The Dow Chemical Co. PLC LLC and DCT Laporte LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 22, 2016, he was employed by PSC and was working at the defendants' place of business. The suit states he was standing on a plywood surface of a tower and the surface collapsed under him, causing him to fall.

He alleges sustained injuries and damages that caused him to suffer pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost wages and other damages.

The plaintiff holds The Dow Chemical Co. PLC LLC and DCT Laporte LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly secure and maintain their plant equipment, failed to inspect the premises for latent defects and failed to warn workers of the dangerous condition of the workplace.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Muhammad S. Aziz of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston and DeSean A. Jones of DeSean Jones Attorney at Law in Houston.
