Man alleges BMW is 'worthless' after Momentum BMW LTD employee crashed it

Car accident 19

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges his BMW is "completely worthless" after a mechanic crashed it during a test drive after making repairs.

Sharon Amos filed a complaint on Oct. 20 in the Harris County District Court against Momentum BMW LTD alleging that the automobile dealer violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in November 2016, his 2014 BMW M6 two-door coupe was damaged when the defendant's mechanic crashed it while taking it for a test drive. He alleges his BMW was an upgraded model with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $152,000 and as a result of the substantial damage to the vehicle, it was rendered completely worthless.

The plaintiff holds Momentum BMW LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly breached its duty to perform routine maintenance on his vehicle and return it in a drivable condition.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000 and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Danny M. Sheena and Jason P. Scofield of The Sheena Law Firm in Houston.
