BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County woman alleges she was injured at a Beaumont store in a fall.

Cynthia D. Morris filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the Jefferson County District Court against PetSmart Inc. and Life Force Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 21, 2016, she was injured at defendant's premises when she tripped over an unseen cart and fell to the ground. She alleges she has suffered great pain, mental anguish, disfigurement and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds PetSmart Inc. and Life Force Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to place warning devices near the abandoned cart and failed to remove the cart to a safe area.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by T. Phillip Brent of Bradley & Steele LLP in Port Arthur.
