Motor vehicle passenger seeks more than $100,000 after Port Arthur collision

Car accident 22

BEAUMONT – A Beaumont man is seeking damages after he was allegedly injured in a collision in Port Arthur.

Brandon Sheppard filed a complaint on Oct. 16 in the Jefferson County District Court against Raul Estupinan Jr. and Leticia Torres Quijano alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 26, 2016, he was a passenger in a motor vehicle traveling on 39th Street in Port Arthur. The suit states Estupinan, who was driving a vehicle owned by Quijano, disregarded a stop sign and struck the plaintiff's vehicle. Estupinan allegedly was also an unlicensed driver and appeared to be intoxicated.

The plaintiff alleges he sustained injuries that caused him to suffer medical expenses, lost earnings, pain and mental anguish.

The plaintiff holds Estupinan and Quijano responsible because defendant Estupinan allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but less than $200,000 and such other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg in Beaumont.
