HOUSTON – A Humble woman claims she lost her job as a bartender and waitress because she complained of sexual harassment, recent Houston federal court records show.

In her lawsuit against Coaches Sports Bar & Grill Humble, LLC, Michelle I. Edwards says the establishment and its general manager, Richard Brandon Fallon, retaliated against her when she reported mistreatment from the defendant’s kitchen manager.

Court papers filed on Oct. 26 assert that Edwards experienced two instances in which Mario Ruiz inappropriately touched her, adding Ruiz even accessed her phone without her consent.

Edwards brought Ruiz’s misconduct to the attention of Coaches’ management, the suit says, but it ignored her complaint and instead assigned her to work at the outside bar next to Ruiz.

According to the plaintiff, the outside bar position was considered a less desirable position by other wait staff and bartenders. She believes the move was in response to her aforementioned complaint.

Edwards was eventually discharged.

Fallon joins Coaches as a co-defendant in the case.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Tran Q. Tran of the Tran Law Firm in Houston.
