Man seeks $1 million in damages over complaints of lift kit installed by Glass Tint Etc.

Car accident 22

HOUSTON – A Louisiana man alleges a lift kit he installed on his pickup truck "destroyed" the crashworthiness of the vehicle.

Derek Harris filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the Harris County District Court against Glass Tint Etc. LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 16, 2017, he had the defendant install a lift kit on his 2016 Ford F350. He alleges he was operating the truck on 600 South Freeway in Harris County on July 25 when he lost control and struck a guardrail. Despite being properly seated and wearing the available seatbelt, he alleges sustained serious injuries.

The plaintiff holds Glass Tint Etc. LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly destroyed the energy transfer and distribution capability of the vehicle and that the lift kit destroyed the handling and stability of the vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and any other relief that the court may deem proper. He is represented by E. Todd Tracy, Stewart D. Matthews and Andrew G. Counts of The Tracy Firm in Dallas.
