BEAUMONT – A Southern Bell Telephone Co. employee alleges he was injured by a hidden defect at a Nederland property.

Harold Walker filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in the Jefferson County District Court against Tri-City Ventures LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 6, he was working at Woogies Sandwich Shop at defendant's property in Nederland. The suit states while he was working, a section of the walkway gave way and caused him to partially fall into a hole. He alleges he sustained injuries to his left foot, ankle, right wrist and other parts of his body.

The plaintiff holds Tri-City Ventures LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to barricade the area and failed to place any warning signs around the area with hidden latent defect.

The plaintiff seeks damages in such amounts as evidence may show at trial, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Tommy L. Yeates and Jon B. Burmeister of Moore Landrey LLP in Beaumont.
