Motorist claims Home State County Mutual Insurance owes uninsured motorist coverage

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County driver is seeking insurance coverage after a collision in Port Arthur.

Kiron Peacock filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in the Jefferson County District Court against Home State County Mutual Insurance Co. alleging that the licensed insurer breach the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, on March 13, the plaintiff was injured in a motor vehicle collision caused by the negligence by an uninsured/underinsured driver in Port Arthur. The suit states the plaintiff sustained bodily injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical expenses. 

The suit states the plaintiff is entitled to recover damages under the uninsured motorist coverage issued by defendant, but has yet to receive payments. 

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of $100,000 or less and all other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. The plaintiff is represented by John A. Carwile of The Law Offices of John A. Carwile in Houston.
