Woman alleges she is still in pain after fall at Charming Charlie store

HOUSTON – A Fort Worth woman alleges she has been unable to find work because of injuries she sustained because of a fall at a jewelry store.

Shari Shipler filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the Harris County District Court against Charming Charlie LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 16, 2015, she was an invitee at Charming Charlie store in Alliance Town Center when she slipped and fell on a puddle of water. She alleges she sustained injuries to her leg, hip, wrist and lower back as a result of the fall. 

She claims she experienced excruciating pain for almost two years, has been unable to perform her job duties and was unable to find new employment after being terminated on April 5, 2016. 

The plaintiff holds Charming Charlie LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to set out warning signs to notify shoppers that the floor was wet and failed to maintain a safe premises for customers.

The plaintiff seeks damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, with interest, costs of court and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Christina Davis of Davis Law Office PC in Frisco.
