HOUSTON – A Harris County man is seeking more than $1 million in damages over an on-the-job hand injury.

Alex Balmore Barillas filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in the Harris County District Court against Allied Fitting LP and Allied Fitting and Flange alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 19, his fingers were partially severed while performing work at defendants' work site in Missouri City. He alleges he has suffered pain and suffering, medical expenses, disfigurement, loss of earnings and mental anguish.

The plaintiff holds Allied Fitting LP and Allied Fitting and Flange responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make necessary safety inspections to apprise themselves of the safety issues at the site and failed to provide proper and effective equipment to allow him to safely perform his work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by J. Moises Cedillos of Cedillos Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
