HOUSTON – Former employees of a janitorial company allege that they are owed unpaid wages.
Neftali Ochoa Perez, Maria I. Lopez Vega and Amalia Vega, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated filed a complaint filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against A & J Family Investments LLC alleging that the janitorial service company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the defendant provides janitorial services for American Multi Cinema theaters in the greater Houston area. The plaintiffs allege that they were financially damaged for not receiving proper wages during their tenure with the defendant.
The plaintiffs holds A & J Family Investments LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay them a minimum wage for every hour worked and failed to pay them at a rate of time-and-a-half for all the overtime hours that they worked.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek an order allowing this action to proceed as a collective action, award for all unpaid wages and overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and interest and such other and further relief.
