Woman seeks to stop the city of Beaumont from demolishing house

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County woman is seeking to halt the demolition of the house.

Alice Patillo filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the Jefferson County District Court against the city of Beaumont seeking a temporary restraining order.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she purchased the Beaumont home she grew up in to save it from demolition and to remodel the same for its historical and sentimental value. The suit states the defendant has declared the property to be a dilapidated structure and has scheduled it for demolition. She seeks to restrain the defendant from demolishing the home.

The plaintiff seeks a temporary restraining order restraining defendant from demolishing the subject structure and judgment against defendant for expenses associated with obtaining this restraining order and injunction. She is representing herself.
