Consumer claims Transworld Systems has harassed her with collection calls

Phone 05

SHERMAN – A Princeton consumer alleges she was harassed by a debt collector's phone calls.

Amber Marie Arriaga filed a complaint on Nov. 30, 2017, in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Transworld Systems Inc. alleging that the debt collection company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Texas Debt Collection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in the latter part of 2015, she began receiving calls to her cellular phone from defendant attempting to collect upon an alleged debt. The suit states she requested that the defendant stop contacted her. As a result of defendant's actions, she claims she has been unfairly and unnecessarily harassed and has expended approximately $56 to maintain an application on her cellular phone to help quell defendant’s calls.

The plaintiff holds Transworld Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to systematically place collection calls to her cellular phone even after her demand to stop contacting her and made calls using an automatic telephone dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of at least $500 per phone call, treble damages, costs and attorney fees and any other relief as the court deems just and appropriate. She is represented by Nathan C. Volheim and Taxiarchis Hatzidimitriadis of Sulaiman Law Group LTD in Lombard, Illinois.
