Wrongful death suit filed against James Construction Group over auto accident

TEXARKANA – A Garland couple and two Arkansas residents have filed a suit over a motor vehicle accident in Bowie County.

Barbara Cobb and Jessica Ryane Cobb, individually and as administratrix of the estate of William Cobb, deceased, Luis Salinas and Lacy Salinas filed a complaint on Dec. 5, 2017, in the Texarkana Division of the Eastern District of Texas against James Construction Group LLC alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan 7, 2016, William Cobb died from the injuries he sustained from a motor vehicle accident on state Highway 82 in Bowie County that was caused by defendant's negligence. Plaintiff Luis Salinas also suffered personal injuries from an accident in the same area, the suit states. 

The plaintiffs holds James Construction Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the width of the roadway during construction, failed to maintain a proper shoulder on the outside lanes and failed to warn approaching traffic that the width of the roadway did not meet the engineering plans and as required by industry standards.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek all damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, prejudgment interest and such other and further relief.
