Laborer seeks more than $200,000 from Port Packaging over alleged injuries

HOUSTON – A man alleges he was injured while working at a Houston warehouse and is seeking damages.

Miguel Escutia Gonzalez filed a complaint on Dec. 5, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Port Packaging LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 12, 2017, he was injured at defendant's warehouse when the merchandise he was assigned to unload fell on him. He claims he sustained severe personal injuries resulting in loss of household service, pain and suffering, mental anguish and permanent disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds Port Packaging LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make necessary inspections to apprise itself of the safety issues in the worksite and failed to provide effective equipment to allow workers to safely perform their work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by J. Moises Cedillos of Cedillos Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
