HOUSTON – A Pearland woman alleges she has lost sight in her right eye because the eye condition was not properly diagnosed.
Sarena Williams filed a complaint on Dec. 6, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Dr. Serita Gardner OD and Eyedoc Vision Services PLLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff sought treatment from the defendants on December 8, 9, and 10, 2015, for an eye infection. She alleges the problem persisted, so she sought care from a specialist who diagnosed her with a fungal corneal ulcer. The suit states the plaintiff has had three corneal transplants and has still not recovered sight in her eye.
The plaintiff holds Gardner and Eyedoc Vision Services PLLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose and treat plaintiff's eye condition and failed to properly perform the medical treatment necessary to her welfare.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other legal and equitable relief. She is represented by Joshua N. Bowlin and Nathaniel J. Alford III of Walston Bowlin LLP in Houston.
