BEAUMONT – A Port Arthur man is seeking more than $1 million in damages after a collision with a tractor-trailer in Jefferson County.

Kevin Cavanaugh filed a complaint on Dec. 1, 2017, in the Jefferson County District Court against Karen Mynar and Larry Mynar, doing business as K&L Farms, and Keith Curnutt alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 22, 2016, he was severely injured when the motor vehicle he was driving struck defendants' tractor-trailer that was blocking FM 365. The suit states the tractor-trailer was not marked and not illuminated.

He alleges he sustained serious and permanent injuries to his head, right foot, right ankle, back and other parts of his body, resulting in substantial medical expenses, extreme pain and suffering and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Karen Mynar and Larry Mynar, doing business as K&L Farms, and Curnutt responsible because Curnutt allegedly illegally parked the subject vehicle in a manner that it blocked the roadway and failed to maintain a lookout.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other appropriate relief. He is represented by Rodney S. Townsend of Rodney Townsend Attorney at Law PC in Orange.
