HOUSTON – An African-American male alleges he was forced to resign from his job because of a hostile work environment.
Anthony O. Igwe filed a complaint on Dec. 6, 2017, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against the Menil Foundation Inc. alleging discrimination on basis of race and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff began his employment with the defendant in October 2009 and filed a charge of discrimination in 2013 and again in January 2017. He alleges he was denied overtime hours, endured a hostile work environment and subjected to different terms and conditions of employment.
The plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 3, 2017, he was forced to resign due to discriminatory and retaliatory treatment.
The plaintiff holds Menil Foundation Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against him on the basis of his race and retaliated against him for engaging in a protected activity.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, together with interest, attorney's fees and costs and such other and further relief. He is represented by Lucy Nkechinyelumka “Kechi” Chukwurah of N. Lucy Chukwurah Law Group PC in Houston.
